OPC UA LADS

Description: OPC UA stands for Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture and is the interoperability standard for the secure and reliable exchange of data in the industrial automation space and in other industries; OPC UA supports companion standards for specific industries - for lab this is Laboratory and Anaytical Device Standard (LADS) jointly created with Spectaris e.V. in Germany. OPC UA LADS can provide plug & play interoperability of lab devices along the workflow and generally uses Ethernet/TCP IP as transport layer. LADS was released January 2024. Standard adoption is free and selected development kits are available.
