It’s always been important to me to let others know when I’ve experienced something valuable. You see, I want others also to share in the good times! Serving on the SLAS Board of Directors has been extremely rewarding for me, and I’d like to invite you to consider stepping up to serve our Society.
The SLAS Call for Candidates for the 2022 Board is open until midnight, U.S. Central Time, Friday, July 9. If you have a desire to mold the future of life sciences and technology while connecting with an amazing team, this opportunity is for you. Three individuals will be selected from the candidate pool, and we hope one of them will be an early-career professional.
Organizations like SLAS thrive when its leaders are hardworking and passionate. We’ve seen this play out over the past year-plus with the tremendous demands placed upon our field and within our families during a global pandemic. The SLAS community has contributed greatly to the pandemic solution, while continuing to provide effective education, collaboration and professional development within the Society. Our industry is undergoing an exciting time of change and the discovery of new technologies toward the lab of the future. The composition of our Board should mirror the various backgrounds and dynamic nature of this endeavor. If you are interested in participating in shaping the future of automation and life sciences, a position on the SLAS Board provides a great opportunity for you to impact our society long term.
The call process is straightforward. You are asked to submit a candidate affidavit, candidate statement, resume and headshot. The SLAS Nominations Committee reviews all submissions, and select candidates are contacted for further discussion before a final slate is presented to the current Board for review and comment. We seek diverse professionals representing academia, industry and government, as well as geographic areas and career levels.
