SLAS and YEBN Partner to Provide Joint Development for Young Scientists in Biotech

Oak Brook, IL (November 24, 2023) – The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Young European Biotech Network (YEBN). This newfound collaboration aims to serve the shared objectives of both organizations and its members by providing ample opportunities and resources to learn and expand the European scientific community.

“Speaking with Pau at BioSpain 2023 left us feeling excited about how our two organizations could collaborate to broaden SLAS’s impact on the emerging scientific community in Europe” says SLAS Director of Membership and Engagement Mary Geismann. “There is such a broad community in Europe that will now be more accessible to the YEBN network, and we’re looking forward to this new expansion!”

Both organizations share a vision to foster connections between scientists and students in the biotech and life sciences spaces with the intersection being the European scientific community. Specifically, YEBN’s mission is to develop the new generation of bioleaders, expanding the knowledge, skills and mindset that motivates them to become deeply committed to achieving a sustainable impact in the future.

“When we first met with SLAS we immediately realized we have many synergies,” says YEBN President Pau Esteve Monja. “With this partnership we will be able to connect more dots in both networks and expand the international reach of our members by accessing to the many interesting opportunities that SLAS offers.”

SLAS provides conference travel awards, student poster awards, mentoring, scholarships, and a variety of online educational resources specifically for students and early-career graduates. The aim is to develop and support the next generation of scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs to transform research and enhance their personal and professional development in the field of life sciences. Through this partnership, YEBN members will have the opportunity to integrate with the SLAS membership network of more than 21,000 global community members and other SLAS member benefits.
