Chicago, IL (USA) — SLAS, the Society of Laboratory Automation and Screening, is pleased to announce the promotion of Amy Wilkinson, CMP, to Director, Global Events effective January 1, 2019.
As Director, Global Events, Wilkinson will provide strategic direction and logistical leadership to all SLAS events and regional symposia, including the organization’s two annual international conferences in the U.S. and Europe, and topical symposia held throughout the year also in both the U.S. and Europe.
Wilkinson will collaborate with the Society’s professional and volunteer leadership teams, including the SLAS Europe office, to evaluate and develop SLAS educational products and programs, as well as maintain and build key relationships with Society partners and sponsors.
“I am excited and honored to step into the role of Director, Global Events for SLAS and to take on the challenge of engaging the entire SLAS membership across the globe.” Wilkinson said. “I am so grateful for the work that our community performs and look forward to supporting our members and their research through events and educational initiatives.”
Wilkinson holds a B.S. in Sports Management from Central Michigan University and started her career with the Chicago Blackhawks. In 2006, she joined the staff of the Association for Laboratory Automation before its merger with the Society for Biomolecular Sciences to become SLAS. She served as SLAS Senior Manager, Events and Education since 2010. She earned her Certified Meeting Professional designation in 2018 from the Convention Industry Council.
