SLAS Short Courses

SLAS is expanding its short course and workshop-based learning! Due to overwhelming demand, SLAS will now include both within our global symposia programming and partner events, as well as host them at companies and organizations looking to expand employee learning opportunities.

SLAS is currently searching for content creators and course instructors to help the Society expand this programming. Both roles will be offered honoraria based on time and effort. A creator will work with SLAS to create topical course materials that can be added to our permanent media library and be owned by the Society. Instructors will deliver the content to new audiences or in other formats (online, workshop, etc.).

We are currently soliciting proposals in the following topics, based on SLAS strategic educational investment.

  • Single-cell analysis
  • Gene Editing – tools, methods and applications
  • All things 'omics: transcriptome, genome, proteome, metabolome
  • Protein degradation as a therapeutic strategy
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning and neural networks ("AI 101")
  • Scripting languages and informatics (i.e. Python toolkits)
  • High-content screening and assay development

Interested parties should submit a proposal including course title, expected learning guidelines, and description of why the content is relevant to the SLAS community along with an abstract and credentials (CV, LinkedIn profile) for consideration. Proposals will be reviewed on an as-received basis throughout 2020, with the intention to begin pilot course development in October 2020.
