With a career spanning 20 years in both academic and pharmaceutical environments, Brierly works at the interface between assay development, screening and automation technologies. Furthermore, he has actively supported the SLAS organization and community for over a decade, contributing through journal publications, multiple conference track chair roles, and more recently as a member of the Scientific Research Advisory Committee.

Jennifer Smith, Ph.D., is a broadly trained molecular biologist with expertise in virology, assay development, high-throughput screening and data analysis strategies. Jennifer earned her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in the Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology Program, where she studied oncolytic reovirus and cellular translational inhibition. She did her postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, focusing on oncogenic papillomaviruses. Jen joined the ICCB-L team in 2011. ICCB-Longwood is one of the oldest academic screening cores and has an international reputation for innovative screening technologies and high-impact screens.
