SLAS Travel (Tony B.) Award

This annual travel grant program provides funding for the SLAS International Conference and Exhibition and the SLAS Europe Conference and Exhibition for students, graduate students, post-doctoral associates, and junior faculty with less than four years in their first academic appointments. Those who have completed undergraduate and/or graduate school and are within the first five years of their professional career are also eligible.

Submission Rules

An applicant must be the primary author of a submitted abstract and must present his/her research in either a poster or oral (podium) session at the digital conference. Submitted award applications are reviewed by members of the SLAS Travel Award selection panel and are based on multiple factors, including but not limited to:

The SLAS Travel Award may only be awarded to the same individual twice over the course of their career: once for a Poster presentation and once for Podium presentation, providing the work submitted is significantly different.

Quality of the abstract
The relevance of the research to the SLAS Europe 2025 conference
Statement of the value of the conference
Qualifications of the applicant
No more than three applications from the same lab can be submitted per conference. Such applications should all be distinct research topics.
One PI should not write letters of support for more than three students.

The award covers the following:

Complimentary SLAS Premier Membership for one year

Travel stipend including shared hotel accommodations (up to 3 nights) and airfare or trainfare.

Multiple applicants from a single research group are allowed to apply. However, such applicants should understand that award application reviewers may prioritize the applications so that only one individual per investigator's research group receives an award. This decision will be based on funding availability and the criteria listed above.

This award is non-transferrable. It may only be applied to travel and lodging for this specific conference.
