Cesare Indiveri is the PI of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biotechnologies Unit, University of Calabria and Director of the IBIOM Institute at the National Research Council. His research interests cover several aspects of nutrition and metabolism in health and diseases with particular reference to absorption, distribution and excretion of nutrients and drugs. Indiveri is also involved in drug-design projects and with his group set up a platform for membrane protein expression, purification and functional characterization in in vitro/in vivo systems. Over the years, Indiveri created a network of international collaborations with experts in the fields of membrane transporters and has supervised several PhD students and more than 100 undergraduate students for master thesis.
Catherine (Katy) Kettleborough leads one of LifeArc’s Translational Challenges focused on Chronic Respiratory Infections. Translational Challenges are long term collaborative programmes shaped by patient need and are developed through collaboration that connects multiple partners, scientists, resources and investment. Until January 2022, Catherine was the Head of Biology at LifeArc (formerly MRC Technology ). LifeArc is an independent life science technology transfer charity, offering professional services to organisations within the academic, charity, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors globally.
Through 29 years of experience in R&D of a multinational pharmaceutical company, Martin has developed skills that combine Science and Business Management, two worlds apparently opposed and difficult to reconcile. The first in search of disruptive innovation, the second pursuing operational and business excellence.
Parker has a degree in molecular biology and completed his Ph.D. studying recombination in bacteria. After a post-doctoral fellowship, he joined the industry and now has 30 years of experience working in both the US and Europe. His research focused on cell based screening technologies for the discovery of novel targets for pharmaceutical applications and can offer his experience of living and working in a number of different countries as well as working in large and medium sized pharmaceutical companies.
Elena Rivas is the current CEO and Vice-president of the Spanish Association of Biotechnology. She is a biology graduate from the University of Jaen (Spain), holds a biotech management master’s degree and has 20 years of experience working at biotech companies as a business development manager.
