Receive recognition, experience and praise by submitting a poster abstract for the SLAS Europe 2021 Digital Conference and Exhibition.
This is your chance to showcase and present your own original research to a diverse SLAS Europe 2021 Digital audience of industry professionals, academics, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and researchers from the global life sciences and laboratory technology community.
The poster abstract must relate to one of the following educational tracks featured at the conference*:
The track will focus on emerging targets and mechanisms including protein degradation, non-coding RNA’s and stabilising PPI’s. The therapeutic exploitation of intrinsic cellular functions including proteolysis pathways, autophagy and lysosomal degradation mechanisms will be explored. Leading experts in disease biology will present new strategies for identifying, investigating and validating challenging target mechanisms in case studies. Sessions will cover the process of translating biological insight into tractable assays, efficient tool compounds and biological, and methods for generating attractive starting points for drug discovery programmes.
The technology track covers recent technological innovations which promise to significantly enhance our understanding of disease-related mechanisms and eventually lead to fundamental improvements in the practice of drug discovery. The session on super-resolution microscopy will explore its emergence from basic research applications towards exciting new application in industrial-scale screening of biological events, at unparalleled sub-cellular scales. The real-world application of artificial intelligence methods in target identification and therapeutic discovery will be presented by key leaders in the field from Pharma and Biotech. The session on fragment screening will focus on library design and compound elaboration, as well as the increased use of information-rich endpoints including high throughput X-ray crystallography.
In the Discovery track, new approaches to identifying attractive hits, confirming target engagement, progressing leads and selecting disease-relevant candidates for new and established targets will be illustrated in detailed case studies. A session on precision medicine will cover quantitative, high-throughput approaches for using primary patient material, cellular models and complex tissues and how such patient insights can drive translation between disease insight and clinical application. Finally, innovative technologies for monitoring target engagement as well as downstream biological consequences will be showcased and their impact on increasing understanding of molecular selectivity and mode of action explored.
How can we be competitive innovative and creative in pitching a brilliant idea, bringing a new product on the market or ineffectively translating a great research result into a successful start-up? The focus of this track is to provide insights in each of these topics trying to answer some questions and stimulating new ones. Don’t miss the opportunity of being part of the audience.
*If you cannot find a particular topic of interest listed in the track descriptions or preliminary session titles but wish to showcase research related to one of the track themes, you may still submit your abstract for consideration by the SLAS Europe 2021 Scientific Programme Committee.
Ensure all your materials are together prior to entering your poster abstract for preparation. You will be able to view screen shots of each step in the process by using the “guidelines” section of the submission site.
Complete submissions must include:

Unless specifically designated, the SLAS Europe Scientific Programme is a non-commercial forum. Speakers are to refrain from the use of brand names and specific product endorsement whenever possible. Under no circumstances should the society’s podium be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker’s product, service, or for monetary self-interest. Negative remarks about a particular company or brand are also prohibited.
SLAS welcomes abstract submissions from the vendor community and encourages vendor scientific content to be represented within educational programs at SLAS events. Vendors wishing to submit an abstract are requested to review the Vendor Presentation Guidelines prior to submitting an abstract. The Program Committee will review each abstract against these guidelines as part of their abstract review processes. Sample abstracts are available upon request.
The following guidelines are meant to assist authors from the technology vendor community in considering abstract submission for SLAS events. SLAS recognizes the importance of representing the scientific research and development taking place at within the vendor community and encourages inclusion of this content provided the following guidelines are followed:
Agreement to Commercialization/Marketing Policy
All authors understand that the presentation title, abstract, bio and author information will be published online at SLASEurope2021.org and in the SLAS Europe 2021 conference app, event scheduler, E-poster gallery and abstract compendium. SLAS reserves the right to edit the title and description for promotional purposes.
To improve the transition between individual speakers, SLAS has instituted a policy requiring that all audiovisual be limited to PowerPoint presentations. Presenters are permitted to supply handouts at the session; however, SLAS will not duplicate such material and all costs associated with those handouts are the responsibility of the presenter. SLAS asks that all podium presenters drop off their presentation at the Speaker Ready Room onsite at SLAS Europe 2021 as per details included in the official confirmation. Laptops are provided in the presentation rooms and SLAS asks that all presenters use the laptops provided rather than use their own.
