The SLAS 2024 Sample Management Symposium will bring together sample managers and technology providers to discuss best practices, digital innovation, current trends and topics related to the expansion and demands of research facilities including biospecimens, data analysis and more. Each year’s symposium program is unique and addresses current topics and challenges.
Take a sneak peak at this year's program:
Session one: Bio-Sample Management – Best Practices, Challenges and Experiences
Session Chair: Darren Rimmer (GlaxoSmithKline)
As Drug Discovery continues its trend with launching new medicines of a biological nature, our compound management society is pivoting with the handling of Biological Samples in addition to the traditional management of Small Molecules. These talks will share experiences of best practices, challenges and success stories in this space.
Session two: Compound Management's Added Value
Chair: Olivier Casamitjana (Evotec)
The main objective of this session is to present concrete examples of how compound management adds value to scientific project plans. Examples will include the inclusion of specific workflows, equipment (innovation), additional resources and expertise, or adapting timelines to improve a scientific project overall.
Session three: Physical Lab Moves: Challenges and Best Practices
Chair: Kelli Wilson (NIH)
Moving is always stressful but movement of a scientific laboratory and associated samples can pose additional challenges. Come hear from the community on how to complete large scale sample and equipment moves to resume operations quickly.
Session four: Innovation and Change Management
Co-Chairs: Tamara Baptist (Specs) and Manuela Beil-Peter (Avance Academy)
Session five: Sustainability in Compound Management
Chair: Stephanie Muzzarelli (wega Informatik)
This session will survey the sustainability efforts already in practice within the Compound Management community. In addition to identifying successful efforts, we will also discuss alternatives, solutions, and the future of sustainability within our field.
