How the plan will be realized by way of SLAS programs, resource allocation and organizational priorities.  Objectives listed here are targeted for implementation and/or completion in 2018. As progress is made against objectives, those objectives will be refined, updated and replaced over the course of the Strategic Plan period.    

Strategic Plan: Education


SLAS offers best-in-class multi-dimensional education to advance learning throughout its community.

Objective 1:
Position the renamed journals as competitive venues for peer-reviewed publication for a broader audience of life sciences discovery and technology professionals.

Objective 2:
Expand the Society’s educational presence in Europe with quality scientific content supported by the appropriate organizational structure.

Objective 3:
Develop the SLAS Graduate Education Fellowship Grant program to have premier global recognition and applicability in North America and Europe.

Strategic Plan: Community


SLAS delivers exceptional year-round programs to inform and connect its diverse, global community of life sciences professionals and students.

Objective 1:
Enhance and increase year-round interaction among the global SLAS community.

Objective 2:
Enhance SLAS Special Interest Groups with an emphasis on year-round activities and interaction.

Strategic Plan: Sustainability


SLAS pursues strategic investments in new audiences, services and programs for the growth and benefit of its membership while maintaining its sound financial position through responsible stewardship.

Objective 1:
Increase geographic, scientific and demographic diversity of SLAS’s membership.

Objective 2:
Refine and enhance the Society’s virtual business model to ensure the Society continues to be volunteer-led and professionally-managed on a global and regional basis.

Objective 3:
Meet or exceed goals of European business plan, inclusive of SLAS 2018 Europe Conference (June 2018 in Brussels)
